Police issued a dispersal order amid anti-ICE protests in Downtown Los Angeles Sunday, Jan. 25, a day after immigration officers shot and killed an ICU nurse in Minneapolis, the second person ICE officers fatally shot in the city this year.
Los Angeles police issued the order around 5 p.m. for anyone on Alameda Street between Temple and Aliso streets, after protesters marched through downtown.
âAnyone who remains in the area of the Dispersal Order is subject to arrest,â the Police Department said on X. âYou must leave the area.â
Police didnât immediately respond to a request for information. But CBS Los Angeles reported the protesters eventually dispersed with no arrests.
Alex Pretti, 37, was identified as the man ICE officers killed Saturday. The shooting took place just over a mile from where ICE officers fatally shot 37-year-old Renee Good on Jan. 7.
Both shootings have prompted widespread protests, including several Saturday in Los Angeles and elsewhere in Southern California.
